Your guns go 'BOOM-BOOM' and my guns go 'PAU-PAU'
So my this is first article on the Bulls this season, I usually cover them more than any other team because I am biased and they are my all-time favorite team. Pau Gasol was a huge part of the Bulls last season. Before last season I knew my Bulls as the 2nd round chaps who never got to the conference finals because of injuries to Rose and other key players, it's hard to believe we even got to the second round before Pau came along. We relied on 5' 11" Nate Robinson (Possibly the most incredible human being pound-for-pound ever) to beat the Heat, and he did the first game, lighting up in the fourth quarter and OT. Nate was so hot in that series that LeBron had to guard him the next game, partly because he wanted payback for this embarrassment Nate laid on him:
But no matter what superhuman effort, we could not score. Then it so happened that one day, while I was chillin' in South America, thinking if the Bulls drafting Dougie McBuckets was a good decision, my I-Pod (No phone yet) buzzed, we had just acquired Gasol. I wasn't particularly happy because I knew Pau as the worse half of the Gasol bros. partly because on the Lakers, he did not score or play much (as low as 13.8 PPG in 49 GP) and was getting older. But as the season went on, Pau seemed to be getting younger, showing his offensive skills, scoring steadier than any other player we had. His rebounding skills also impressed, he made a great duo with Joakim Noah who, although not his best season, showed the endless possibilities of having a two great rebounders, one who could score and the other who could defend on the court at the same time. Pau was a great acquisition and I hope he brings that scoring touch along with him this season because a healthy Rose, an All-Star Jimmy Butler, a shooting McDermott or Dunleavy, Noah, and him could make a great starting five. Also without former coach Tom Thibodeau's grinding style, hopefully less players will get hurt. Just don't screw this up Hoiberg, Pau will not be happy.
