As I was watching Houston-Golden State I thought that nothing could top Houston's 45 point 1st quarter, that is a historic point mark in these playoffs. Houston came out on fire, Josh Smith was not getting marked near the 3-point line, so he made 3 of the 3-pointers without contest, he also added his post moves to explode for 15 points through the 7:00 mark in the 2nd quarter. Smith had his help from Harden too, of course, had 10 points in that run. But the mood changed at around 7 minutes in the 2nd quarter. The Rockets' Trevor Ariza went for a layup, and faked Steph Curry, the MVP. The MVP jumped with all his might in that fake, he jumped all the way over Ariza, at least 5 1/2 feet above the ground. He fell to the ground and because of how high he was, could not cushion his fall, so he landed hard on his upper back and hit his head. He was lying on the ground for several minutes, through a commercial break, and then he got up. He was reported to have had a head contusion, which is a bruise on the brain that can cause swelling, and a hematoma, which is bleeding in the brain that collects and forms a clot. It's probably not that bad, as could be with a hematoma possibility, but the Warriors doctors are definitely looking for concussion symptoms, in which you have to go through a series of tests and treatments. Concussions suck. Dell Curry was with his son in the locker room and they have yet to come out at the 30 second mark just before halftime. The Rockets could not contain the Warriors after Steph left. The Warriors quickly cut the lead from a 25 point deficit, to a 10 point deficit at the half. James Harden even made a shot from the opposite foul line at the buzzer, but it didn't count. As Jeff Van Gundy said, "Any shot from that distance no matter the buzzer sounding, should count", or something like that.
That's my depiction of his fall.
Another questionable call in the NBA like yesterday, Dwight hit Bogut upside the head, not an elbow, but a mere slap. Bogut didn't hit the rim on the free throw. Back to the point, yesterday, Dellevedova was once again fouled for instigating conduct, which caused Al Horford to fall on him by the side, remember that Dellevedova has a history of getting into fights, just like when he fought the Bulls' Taj Gibson, who he leg-locked while Gibson was trying to get up, then, Gibson got a horrible call, a flagrant 2 ejection, and Dellevedova, who leg-locked Gibson and pushed him prior, got nothing. Now Dellevedova went for Horfords legs, and he only gets a technical foul, even though Horford fell on him because of that, Horford got a flagrant 2 ejection. Dellevedova will get something taught to him in the near future, and it won't be nice. That's the only way to teach a dirty player how to act clean. Oh and when Taj got ejected a Cavs fan threw a bucket of popcorn at him, typical Cavs fan from a dirty city which smells like @#$% and homeless people.
Steph Curry made his way back to the court, after being tested out for concussion symptoms. He went through a lot of participation in a series of exercise, running and testing for symptoms. He was cleared to come out and he is on the court again. The Rockets still lead 87-71 at the 4:40 mark in the third quarter. Curry after some participation, had an open shot and... Airballed it. He has only done that twice in these playoffs.
I have school tomorrow, and I think Houston is going to win. I'll leave it at that.
